Shaitaan: CBFC Requests That The Ajay Devgn-Madhavan Film Be Certified U/A and Cut One Scene and Make Four Changes

Shaitaan will be released this weekend. Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, and Jyotika play the main roles in the movie. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has approved the U/A version of the movie ahead of its release but with certain modifications. Shaitaan has reportedly undergone four changes and one cut. For those who don’t know, Shaitaan is a reimagining of the Gujarati movie Vash.

Black magic plays a key role in Shaitaan, as suggested by the teaser. The Censor Board has requested to include a voiceover with the disclaimer, “The film does not support/endorse black magic,” as reported by Bollywood Hungama. Additionally, director Vikas Bahl was requested to shout in lieu of using an offensive term. Shaitaan reportedly received one cut as well.

The CBFC directed the creators of a graphic scene to reduce the amount of blood dripping from the mouth by 25%. Another request is for the movie to include a message against alcohol usage. Shaitaan’s runtime has been determined to be 132 minutes with these modifications.

In Shaitaan, Jyothika plays Devgn’s wife, while R. Madhavan plays the antagonist. Ajay and Madhavan were asked whether they would consider switching roles at the trailer premiere. Ajay said that he wasn’t excited to portray the antagonist, as he identified most with the feelings of the film’s defenseless father.

“Maddy (Madhavan) asked me right away when we started filming, ‘Why aren’t you doing this role, Why have you given it to me?’” I said to him, “I will not be able to do justice to the other character because I really feel for the father’s character.” However, it’s a stronger persona,” the performer said.

Devgn was referred to by Madhavan as a “sherdil” (braveheart) and the “Singham” of the business for his willingness to decline the juicy part in “Shaitaan.” He expressed his gratitude, saying, “I sincerely hope and pray that I can do justice to the kindness that has been shown to me by Ajay sir and his team.”

The release date of Shaitaan is March 8.
